The thing is- it is eventually going to stop working because it's an imperfect device. Among those who swim with it prior to it no longer functioning will attribute the lack of function to swimming with it.

I've done it several times during races and in training OWS. Initially, I didn't even use a zip-lock bag and just stuffed it under my cap. I double bag the and place it on the crown of my head so the antenna is facing up when my head would be normally swimming. Then, I put on my goggles with their straps holding the in place.
Top it off with the swim cap and you're good to go. Oh, I usually let a bit of air in the bags and put my contact info inside incase it gets knocked off my head. The uses the same screen glass as the Edge , which is also touchscreen, so imagine it is similar to Gorilla Glass and has some super scratch resistance. Personally I am pissed Garmin bought out another gimmicky runners watch, instead of using science to bring out a slimmer XT upgrade.
